Customized 3D services for museums and institutions

Tmoov3D supports museums, interpretation centers, cultural institutions, and public organizations in the design and manufacture of 3D elements tailored to their exhibitions. We produce tactile panels, reproductions, interactive pieces, presentation stands, and custom components designed to meet real-world usage requirements.

Each project is developed according to the visitor experience, the anticipated level of interaction, accessibility requirements, and installation constraints. We can work from an idea, an image, an existing object, or a 3D file to create a precise, sustainable solution tailored to the museum context.

Our solutions for museums

Needs analysis

We begin by reviewing your project, including the part’s intended use, key dimensions, mechanical constraints, quantity, timeline, and expected result. You can send us a 3D file, photo, sketch, or simply describe what you need.

Design and preparation

If the 3D file is not ready, we can create it, adapt it, or scan an existing part. Then, we prepare the print according to the actual use of the part: material, orientation, tolerances, infill, strength, and desired finish.

Manufacturing and Finishing

The part is printed with settings tailored to its intended use, then checked before project delivery. We pay particular attention to the finish, critical areas, fit, and overall quality of the result.

HEAVY USE

The design is adapted to the parts handled daily by a large number of visitors. The shapes, assemblies, and materials are designed to maintain their strength despite repeated use.

Sustainable materials

Materials are selected based on wear, impact, frequent cleaning, and the mechanical constraints of the project. Each part is optimized for its environment of use.

Simplified maintenance

Parts designed to facilitate inspection, cleaning, replacement, and future adjustments. This approach reduces complex interventions and simplifies facility maintenance.

A WORK TRANSFORMED TO BE DISCOVERED THROUGH TOUCH

For the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, Tmoov3D designed and manufactured a tactile bas-relief reproduction of Fernand Léger's work, The Mechanic. The main shapes of the composition were adapted to offer a clear and intuitive reading experience for blind or visually impaired visitors.

The project required transforming the image into a 3D model, adjusting the various levels of relief, and optimizing each contour for tactile perception. The result is a durable, precise piece suitable for repeated handling in a museum environment.
